Web Hosting with Bluehost
Many options exist for web hosting. Here is how and why I chose to sign up my web hosting with Bluehost. Bluehost.com is my current and go-to for the best web hosting experience. When I signed up, I was given a free custom domain. Working with WordPress, and other plugins is a simple way to get you going with any web hosting provider, combined with a few tips and tricks I will share.
Reliability
On paper, most of the web hosting companies will be the same, if not
Free Domain with Signup
Some companies will offer a free domain when you signup with their services. This is typically a $10-15 service fee that is waived. When you sign up, you would have an option to choose your custom domain name somewhere along the way. If you already have a site up and running, this would not concern you unless this was a new venture.
Don’t Get Cheap
Price can and often becomes a deciding factor. Many others have made the mistake of making this a priority. You should not make this mistake when choosing a web hosting company. All too often you get what you pay for.
Sign Up For Longer Periods
If the price becomes so much of a factor, consider signing up for longer periods. Most any company will give you a discount for putting more money up front vs paying over time. This site and others are paid in full for a year in advance.
WhoIs Considerations
WhatIs WhoIs?? WhoIs keeps track of who owns which websites and publishes them or, for a price, conseals their true owners. There is mixed reviews on if you should keep this information private, or public for the world to know. If you are a public company, you want the world to know you are not hiding any secrets. A more private website may not want to reveal itself. What are your thoughts?
Multihost Capabilities.
Are you able to add other domains and subdomains? If so, how many? Bluehost currently offers a total of 5 domains for each registered website. This would include the main website plus 4 subdomains. Wiki always mostly knows best. Read Here their explaination of subdomans for a better idea.
User cPanel
Your user cPanel, or control panel, would contain all of your website settings and preferences. You can setup subdomains easily and add or take away emails you are hosting. Inside here some places normally would also be your FTP access. These features will vary between web hosts.
Email Provided
Most websites would prefer their emails be separated between personal and site related. You will probably want a few emails at the very least to be available to be used as you like. Possibly at least a few for admins and others for customer support. Keep this in mind while you are choosing. Bluehost has given up to 5 for each domain you register and host with them.
Why Bluehost
Bluehost has been extremely easy and user friendly to setup and get running. The interfaces have been very
Conclusion
There are many options with many different web hosting providers available. Choose the one that feels right and fits your goals the best. Take your time and make sure this is something you are going to be happy with in the long run. Most people aren’t making websites that will only be up for a month or two. Find a company that you will not have second thoughts with after only a few months. Making this
