There is a ton of WordPress plugins, but only a few can be called the best WordPress Plugins for 2020. It is easy for even a good plugin to disappear in this vast sea of options. Let us being with how I selected these plugins.
Criteria
- Must have been compatible with latest WordPress release.
- Been updated within 6 months.
- Its purpose not covered by another plugin on this list.
- Free for basic options.
You only want so many plugins running on your site. Once you reach this number, your website begins to slow down and load times go up. A plugin that can cover multiple benefits is worth more than another that does half its job.
Best WordPress Plugins I Use For 2020
In no particular order, let’s get on with the goodies.
Yoast SEO
Yoast SEO has been extremely helpful with someone like me starting from scratch and just learning SEO. With just a glance, this plugin helps guide me through my post and highlight areas that need extreme attention. There is a free version that will get you going, but eventually, I would recommend moving up to the premium version.
MC4WP: MailChimp for WordPress
I have been using MailChimp for my marketing platform for quite some time now. Using the integrated plugin allows me to further utilize the system to fit my needs and see what the next steps I need to take are.
Add Categories to Pages
Bluehost WordPress Plugin
Bluehost is my service provider. I have been extremely happy with their service and prices. The Bluehost plugin integrates your website with their servers for advanced functions, features, and security measures.
Advanced Ads
Unfortunately in this world, Ads are a necessary evil. Advanced Ads have many options to play with and fairly user-friendly once you try an ad or two. The ability to specify how often, where, and when ads can show up.
Honorable Mentions
There were many WordPress Plugins that just barely missed my favorites. Here are a few that were just shy of the mark for one reason or another.
Ad Inserter
This was my first ad plugin. It served me well at first, but I felt after looking around that Advanced Ads was a better suit for me.
Grammarly
Ok, so this went into honorable mentions because this is not a WordPress plugin. Grammarly is a browser plugin but has more than been useful for keeping me from looking like a complete idiot when it comes to spelling and grammar errors.
Conclusion
I know, I’m sure you disagree with at least some of my choices, and that’s fine, but these are the ones I currently use on all of my websites.
